Entries are there for you to save & organize the text and photos you'd like to use in your books. This allows you to use the same text and photos in multiple projects. And if you're importing content from another site, this gives you an opportunity to prepare your blog or album for printing. You can correct typos, rotate photos, and make any other changes you'd like - this will greatly reduce the amount of editing once your book is created.
No. Once a book is created, the content is no longer linked to the entry - this allows you to edit an entry without worrying that it will change the customizations in your book.
From your account dashboard, click the title of the entry you wish to edit. Then, select the Upload tab and you will see a link to Select Photos. You can upload up to 50 photos at a time. To select multiple photos, hold down the Shift- or Ctrl- key while you click on the file names. If you have any problems uploading photos, please feel free to contact us.
In your book, each chapter can have a title page layout which has additional room for the entry title, date, and location. If your entry has values for these fields, an appropriate layout will be used when your book is created (of course, you can always change this while editing).
A missing photo indicates that the photo could not be found. This is usually due to a cancelled or interrupted import. During an import, it's possible to encounter an occasional connection problem. If you have cancelled an import after it has started, those photos will also be missing - but the captions will still be there.
You can fix this by clicking the link to retry the missing photos in an import. This link is found towards the lower left when viewing a photo (not in the gallery). Or if you don't want the photo any more, just delete it.
If you have any questions, pleaes feel free to contact us.
Absolutely. Your login information is never viewed or handled by us - your account is always verified by the site you are importing from. We never store anything other than the content you select to import.
For Facebook imports, we only request the permissions that are required for us to perform the import and nothing else.
Once your account is authorized, you will see a list of your albums / blogs to select from. After choosing those you would like to import, the text and photos it contains will be copied over to your Drop the World account. This allows you to edit the content and prepare it for your books without affecting the originals. Each album / blog that you import will become an entry in your Drop the World account.
At the moment it is only possible to import at the blog / album level. However, you can always delete the unneeded content after importing it (or just not use it).
This really all depends on how many photos are in the import. Any text is usually imported in a matter of seconds, but photos take longer. Since we know some of you have a LOT of photos, we've provided a couple features so you don't have to wait around. You can log out and return later, and also have the option to receive an email alerting you that your import has finished.
While we don't have a "synchronize" feature, all you have to do is import the album/blog again. You can then simply delete the outdated copy from your Drop the World account.
From the TravelBlog control panel of the account to authorize, click the Blog-to-Book link. This will take you back to Drop the World - once you log in, the TravelBlog account will be authorized and listed under the list of available accounts.
When you log in to Facebook during an import, you only have access to that user's albums. To import your friend's photos, you'd need to log in as them.
There are occasionally some photos that have problems being imported. Make sure that the the photo is displaying correctly on the site you are importing it from, and contact us with any questions.
