Drop the World

W

hat's in a name? Drop the World was named for and founded in the spirit of travel. In fact, Drop the World was created when we returned home from our own trip and wanted to print our blogs. After about 2 years on the road, writing and attempting to convey our experiences to friends and family along the way, our blogs had evolved into literally thousands of photos and tens of thousands of words. What started out as a convenient way to avoid sending mass-emails had turned into something we were actually quite proud of.

And so Drop the World was created, existing to serve a single puropse - turning travel blogs into books. With the incredible support of TravelBlog.org (our blogging birthplace), users were now able to access their blogs & photos with the click of a button and create a book in just a few simple steps.

We love travel

We were at first unconcerned with printing non-travel books. Our layouts replicated the look of an online travel blog, complete with space for entry titles, dates, and locations. But as the site grew and we received requests for new features, we realized our next version should open things up a bit. We wanted to keep our travel features, but allow our users to create photo-only albums if they wanted to. We wanted them to be able to customize and edit each page. We wanted them to be able to use their Facebook photos and content from other sites in addition to TravelBlog. With these things in mind, version 2.0 was released.

We are happy to say that our writing and photos now rest proudly on our coffee tables and Drop the World has continued to grow. Our site now supports millions of photos from users in over 40 countries, and we have shipped books to dozens of countries across the globe.

Drop the World Founders

What's next for Drop the World? More import sites. More layouts. More travel features. More book sizes. We hope you enjoy your experience on our site and as always, feel free to contact us at any time.
